Sharon Geisen, Bemidjy, MN created this Bookend Scene in 2009. She started with an open book to complete this scene, and used decoupage to glue the pages open and glued a calendar picture to the pages for the background. The base was cut to fit the open book. The stones are made from egg carton pieces. She simply cut them by hand into jagged pieces and glued them down. She then used chalk and paint to color the ‘stones’ till they looked right, and then sprayed a fixative over it. She has used this technique on many projects and absolutely loves using the cardboard egg cartons. There are various food items in this scene from another NAME exchange.

Allie and Lee Frank's "Grandpa's Den" Lee created this in a Brooke Tucker workshop while attending the Miniature Marketplace Show in Milwaukee. The scene contains real family framed photos and many other pieces from Allie's parents and grandparents.

This is a simple way to display your minis with a special greeting card. Nancy Flanagan created this during a Madison, WI club project taught by Barb Hefti. Everyone brought a card and built from that.

Potting shed in a note card box
by Sharon Geisen

This was a Hallmark note card box. It was fun to create this potting shed inside the box as a birthday gift for a very special friend

Kay Felde of Manitowoc, WI is pictured with a room box she won. Kay (as usual) sent in tickets from the Gazette Fundraiser and was pleasantly surprised when she received a phone call telling her she was the winner of this wonderful room box from Region N-3's 2008 houseparty, "Rain, Wine, and Roses".

This project is Sharon Geisen's “Gentleman’s library/den” completed in July of 2009. The box was purchased, she created the wall on the left for a view outside to give more dimension to the scene. She made the desk and mission style table (on the right) from Joann Swanson patterns. The writing desk box on top of the desk was a free project from the NAME online web-site. Many of the items in this scene are from the 2009 NAME exchange called “Adventure Den” sponsored by Mary Johnson of Yakima WA.

Sharon Geisen's miniature scene done in a pottery wine jug.  The jug stands 14 inches tall and came with the opening cut in it. The jug was given to her and the person did not know who created this jug.  It came with a light in the ceiling by the cork.
The floor space was small but perfect for a wine tasting room at a winery.  A picture was added to the back wall of the jug to give the impression of viewing out to the grape vines.
