A state day is a fun-filled day of creating, learning, making new friends, connecting with old friends and having a great time.

The first Wisconsin State Day in many years was held May 9, 2009.  The day was hosted by the Lakeshore Miniature Makers of Sheboygan, WI.  The project for the day was the setting for the front door area of a house.  Mini decorations can be easily changed for the season, holiday, occasion or to show personal interests.

Thanks to the generosity of many people  . . drawings were held for more than 40 State Day Helpers; door prizes were given to everyone (some received two); more than 60 tote bag favors (many to be used in the setting) were given to all; ‘surprises’ (extras) were given to everyone throughout the day.

Some comments from attendees . . .

“over the top!”
“a good day was had by all”
“best state day ever attended”
“first time to any mini group event....I want to come back”
“when’s the next one?”
"certainly set a high bar"
“a great, quality project; one that will last & we can proud of”
“the ‘surprises’ were spectacular”
“we more than got our money’s worth”

more comments are welcome  . . .

Pictures are from committee members  . . .  some complete / some not.
